English: ClojureBridge aims to increase diversity within the Clojure community by offering free, beginner-friendly Clojure programming workshops for women and non-binary people.
Clojure is a modern programming language. We will use it to introduce you to fundamental programming concepts and build a creative app.
Workshop facts:
Location: Berlin
Friday: evening from 6 PM - install party
Saturday: 9 AM to 6 PM - coding, learning, talks
Vegan food and drinks will be provided.
The event is free of charge.
If possible each participant can bring a laptop with a fairly recent operating system (Mac, Linux or Windows). If you have questions about your hardware or you don’t have a laptop, don’t hesitate to send us an email before the event and we will try to figure something out.
NB: While the workshop is primarily for women and non-binary attendees, our coaches and organizers who will also be present at the event are members of the local Clojure community of various genders.
Deutsch: ClojureBridge möchte die Vielfalt in der Clojure Community fördern und bietet deswegen kostenlose, anfängerinnenfreundliche Programmier-Workshops an für Menschen, die sich als Frau oder nichtbinär identifizieren.
Clojure ist eine moderne Programmiersprache. Wir nutzen sie, um dich in fundamentale Konzepte der Programmierung einzuführen. Damit bauen wir dann eine kreative App.

Für den Workshop brauchst du einen Laptop mit einem aktuellen Betriebssystem(Linux, Windows or Mac). Falls du keinen Laptop hast oder Fragen zu deinem Gerät, schreib uns gerne eine Mail.
Der Workshop selbst ist primär für Frauen und nicht-binäre Menschen, aber unsere Coaches und OrganisatorInnen sind Mitglieder der Clojure-Community verschiedenen Genders.

English: We want to provide a safe and welcoming environment for everyone, so we will be asking all learners and event volunteers to respect our Code of Conduct, which will be strictly enforced.
Our aim is that ClojureBridge Berlin will introduce learners to new possibilities in programming and make the tech community in Berlin a more diverse and interesting place.
All the efforts that you made to make a group of women feel comfortable are incredible. There was not a single moment where I felt uncomfortable - I really appreciated that.

Deutsch: Wir wollen eine sichere und einladene Athmosphäre für alle Teilnehmenden schaffen. Deswegen bitten wir alle Teilnehmenden unseren Code of Conduct (=Verhaltenskodex) zu respektieren, welcher strikt durchgesetzt wird.
Unser Ziel mit ClojureBridge ist es, mehr Menschen Clojure näher zu bringen und ihnen neue Möglichkeiten im Programmieren zu eröffnen sowie die technische Community in Berlin zu einem vielfältigeren und interessanteren Ort zu machen.
[Mir gefielen am besten...] Die Menschen aus ganz unterschiedlichen Bereichen. Die Atmosphäre. Der Umgang miteinander. Dass einander geholfen wird! Und dass meine Neugier geweckt wurde. Die Vorträge. Ich wurde bestärkt, weiter zu machen - für mich als Frau total super!!

Workshop June 2015
Our first workshop happened on 10th and 11th July in Berlin. We had 29 students and 17 coaches. Our generous host was Wunderlist and food was provided by the wonderful caterer Federica.
